History
Prei Instrumentation began life as Peter Rothenburg Electrical Instruments (Pty) Ltd in 1955 dealing mainly in industrial instrumentation and the manufacture of Electrical Panel Instruments .Laboratory and workshop Test Equipment also formed part of its original scope of supply. Over the years the product portfolio changed towards the process control market place, and in 1987 the company name changed to more associate itself with the process control market and to abandon the traditional shackles of its birth name. At this point in time the Company was essentially polarised in the vibration monitoring and non-contact thermometry market. In 1993 the company’s directors strategically decided to expand into pressure level and flow markets with appointment of a sales support team.
Since 1997 the company has acquired the distribution rights for a range of world class companies such as GLI, Hach, CCC, Waltron, LaMotte, Blue I, West and PMA to complement its existing range of companies such as Metrix , F.W.Bell, Danfoss, VeederRoot, Dynapar,Honeywell Sensotec and the company has moved away from infra-red temp. measurement.
The company has also expanded its technical side enabling it to supply, install, commission and maintain the products it sells and undertake projects.
